Its leaves are small and are in pairs like tamarind leaves. Its thorns are in pairs. Its flowers are bright, fragrant, yellow in colour and bell-like. Its pods are white in colour and have crooked, flat seeds. Each pod has flat, round, grey coloured seeds. A gum called Arabica comes out from the bark of its trunk. Which is yellow and black in colour. Its extract or gum is a Vata-Pitta sedative and is soft, sweet, astringent in juice, sweet taste and cold in semen.
